With its initial technological audit, intercountry agreements and intentions to begin commercial operations on March 8, 2015 in Mindanao and Visayas, NEWS of the telecommunications group DITO Telecommunity corp. has prompted market players to take advantage of the stock of the DITO CME holdings corp. with some loading positions on the last day last week.
On 22-24 and 26 February, the Philippine Stock Exchange data shows a total of 532,77 million exchanged in DITO CME shares priced at $8.90.00 million which became the most traded stock that week. In observance of the 35th year of the EDSA People’s Power Movement, the financial markets were closed on Feb. 25.
The business Dennis A. Uy-led closed down 10 percent from the end of February 19 in each P17.94 at P16.14. The stock has risen by 24 percent from the first trading day of the year.
“The DITO trends have been affected in recent days by stories on the interconnection agreement… and the news from the market participants that the firm will be released commercially on [March 8] is being digested,” said Timson Securities, Inc., Head of Online Trading Darren Blaine T. Pangan in a Viber message from BusinessWorld.
“The portfolio encountered considerable uncertainty [last week] along with a wider economy, while the general perception remains unclear in the continuing evaluation of the vaccine launch investors on the COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease 2019) and inflation problems across the globe.”
In the meantime, Christopher John J. Mangun, AAA Southeastern Equities, Inc. research analyst, said by e-mail that sentiment is “mainly guided by the DITO Telecommunity’s optimism regarding growth.”
“The organization passed its National Telecommunications Commission professional audit successfully (NTC). They have confirmed they will start their company on 8 March… Investors are really excited and this is apparent in the movement of stocks. This is amid the latest unloading by many insiders,” he added.
Requested that market changes in DITO CME vary from the other stocks exchanged aggressively last week, Mr. Mangun said his success was “incomparable.”
“The stock is the second most exchanged concern 5-10 times. He also witnessed crazy market fluctuations in a commodity that sold huge quantities. You did not see this. In contrast to its rivals in the sector it tends to stand out,” he said.
DITO CEO Adel A. Tamano reported in an online briefing that the business roll-out will take place in stages, beginning in 17 municipalities in Mindanao and the Visayas. Mr. Tamano hopes that by June DITO facilities will be globally accessible.
On Monday DITO announced that it is consistent with the mandate to have a minimum average broadband bandwidth of 27 megabits per second (Mbps) in its first year of operation to serve the 37.03 percent of the country’s population.
During its second to fifth year of service the telco has a commitments of 55 Mbps and an 85% coverage. In July there will be the next technical audit.
DITO has recently concluded interconnection deals with PLDT, Inc. and Globe Telecom, Inc., according to its officials. It is anticipated that the networks of both linkages will be completed in the month.
DITO CME’s attributable net sales for the first nine months of 2020 is recorded in the latest financial results at P 69.95 million, 38.7 per cent higher than the P50.42 million for the same duration in 2019.
Mr. Mangun expects the market price of the DITO CME to improve in the next few weeks as they approach their technological launch. AAA Southeast Equities’ “Investor’s success as a telco company would be strongly involved until they prepare to roll out.”
In P14.4 and P19, respectively, Mr. Mangun placed the stock at the initial help and first resistance stages.
“[Aid] amount must be sustained if the price tends to escalate. As long as it is above this amount, it remains a purchasing opportunity,” he says.
“The first power is at its peak at P19.00 all-time. It would be really bullish for the stock to break past this stage,” he said.
For Mr. Pangan of Timson Securities: “[T]raders should closely monitor whether at 14.00, they remain beyond their closest help. Its immediate resistance could otherwise be tied to P19.00.”
