Before you send again: Open the transaction history in GCash, Maya or your bank. Save the reference, amount, status and Philippine Time. Compare that record with the destination history, then report the first transfer through the official support channel.

If the wallet says successful

A successful wallet status means the wallet processed its side; it does not by itself prove the destination credited the balance. Keep the masked receipt and ask the destination to trace the reference. Do not post the full receipt publicly.

If the wallet says reversed or failed

Check whether the funds returned automatically. If not, follow the wallet or bank's dispute path. The destination usually cannot trace a transfer that its own records never received.

Do not pay an “unlock” or “verification” fee. A request for another payment to release the first payment or a withdrawal is a major warning sign. Stop and verify the channel.

Safe evidence checklist

  • Reference number with unrelated digits masked
  • Amount and currency (PHP)
  • Exact date and Philippine Time
  • Sender and recipient names partly masked
  • Screenshot with balance, OTP, PIN and full mobile number hidden

A clear support message

“At [time] PHT on [date], I sent PHP [amount] using [GCash/Maya/bank]. The wallet status is [status] and the masked reference ends in [digits]. The platform status is [status]. Please confirm whether the reference is visible and what the next official step is.”

GCash tells users with a missing online payment to review the transaction and use its official help process. Maya's published terms say it will not ask for passwords, OTPs or PINs through SMS, email or chat. If a complaint to a BSP-supervised provider remains unresolved, the BSP explains its consumer assistance mechanism. Platform-side crediting still has to be confirmed by the platform.
