PLDT HOME has collaborated with Asus in introducing WiFi 6 technologies to internet providers and offering higher access rates beginning November 26.
PLDT Home will be selling Asus devices in its virtual startup on Wednesday, namely the Gaming router Republic of Gamers (ROG) Rapture GT-AX11000 and the mesh router Asus ZenWiFi XT8, in addition to current fibro customers who are looking to achieve next level digital experience at home.
The PLDT Senior Vice President Menardo G. Jimenez said This collaboration is in alignment with our mission to inspire Philippine families to rediscover meaningful interactions and further their passions, guided by the greatest fiber link in their home countries.
PLDT Home said users with Asus routers have four times higher WiFi speeds at 1000 megabits per second (mbps). They are able to reach up to 50 percent more areas up to 270 m2 and accommodate up to 50 devices simultaneously.
Asus Regional Marketing Officer, John Robert Osorio said Asus ROG Rapture GT-AX11000 is today’s most strong and award-winning router on the market.
Mr. Osorio said the gaming router of the Rapture GT-AX11000 can accommodate 11,000 mbps of data and features including 1.8 gigahertz (GHz) 64-bit quad-core Processor and a 2.5 Gigabit gaming port.
Mr Osorio said ZenWiFi XT8 is capable of providing up to 6,600 mbps. Some of the features of the router include a 1.5 GHz quad-core Processor and WP3 encryption.
“It has improved power, productivity and broader coverage and commercial protection,” said Mr. Osorio.
PLDT also sells its PLDT Home customers packages who want to allow use of Asus’ WiFi 6 routers.
Asus ROG Rapture GT AX11000 will be used by current PLDT Home Fibr customers as an alternative to P1,349 per month for 24 months, P2,599 per month for 12 months or to buy one-time P26,700 for 12 months.
Asus ZenWiFi XT8, however can be bought by current PLDT Home Fibre customers for 24 months at P1,399, 12 months at P2,599 a month or a single purchasing price of P26,299.
PLDT said that two WiFi 6 mesh routers are only accessible in Manila, Cebu and Davao metro regions.
